My name is Alexandra Beacock.
I am a passionate and confident sports reporter, dedicated to bringing people together through sports and exceptional story telling.
Pursuing a career in sports has been a passion of mine ever since I was young. It’s a field that allows me to immerse myself in the thrilling world of sports while using my strong communication skills to bring the excitement and drama of sports to a global audience. Whether it’s reporting on game-changing moments, interviewing athletes, or analyzing sports trends, a career in sports reporting offers a front-row seat to the action and a chance to be part of the sports narrative that unites and inspires communities, which is something that excites me everyday.
I would describe myself as a confident, creative, and hardworking individual, driven by an immense curiosity for the stories that unfold both within and beyond the lines of the playing field. Over the past five years, I have honed my skills in sports production through hands-on experience and formal education. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in the RTA Sport Media program at Toronto Metropolitan University, where I have gained a solid foundation in media production techniques, control room and camera operations, and post-production processes. I have also interned with Rogers TV when I was just 16 years old, where I had the opportunity to work on various live sports broadcasts including the Ontario Hockey League, as well as in-studio shows. My skill set contains a large range of sports writing, on-air hosting and reporting, camera operations, video editing, and social media content creation experience.
Outside of my professional life I enjoy staying active and participating in sports such as hockey and golf, as well as building my personal brand through social media with over 50,000 followers on TikTok, which has been key to my success in the evolving sport media industry.
